Description and Rationale
We will be working for the next few months to create a
YouTube channel called "Show Me The Physics". We will work in
small groups, after school, to film, edit and upload science videos for what I
believe will be a ground breaking YouTube Channel.
The channel is
part of our school wide initiative to incorporate Gospel values into
every phase of our instruction. The YouTube channel will be filled with exciting science demonstrations designed
to enhance the instruction of elementary and middle school students.
Every science demonstration appearing on our YouTube channel will be
carefully selected to meet two criteria. Our videos will grab
the attention of young students by employing the element of surprise and
be easily replicated
at home or in a classroom using inexpensive materials.
It is our hope that our videos will
be used by new teachers looking for ways to inspire and motivate their students
by exposing them to
the wonders of science. We also hope that experienced teachers,
faced with recent budget cuts, will use our videos to learn
new and inexpensive ways to turn their students on to the magic of
science.
